Lat Pulldown: StickingUpdated 10 months ago
Usually, this issue is due to the rods lacking a bit of lubrication — they work best with a light coat for the weight slide to glide optimally.
Here's how to keep it moving smoothly along the guided rods:
Wipe off any dirt/grime from the guide rods using a clean rag
Spray a light coating of silicone-based lubricant on the rods
Give the unloaded machine a few full range-of-motion pulls
Perform this maintenance as needed, usually once every 3-6 months
If applying some lubrication to the guide rods doesn't work, then it's possible that the glide rods of your attachment are very slightly bent — causing the stickiness.
To tell if it's the rods causing this, please try the following:
Remove the guide rods from the Lat Pulldown Attachment
Lay them down on a solid floor (hardwood, concrete, or flat tile)
Give the first rod a push, so it starts to roll on its own
Let it roll for 1-2 feet, as you watch the ends for any wobbling (it will be very slight)
Follow steps #1-3 for the second glide rod as well
