Blitz Bike: "Clicking" while pedallingUpdated 9 months ago

Please rest assured, this is normal and is usually due to the bike's inner chain having a large amount of lubricant on it to ensure its smooth use for the next couple years.

I encourage you to continue using your Blitz Bike, as the lubricant will begin to spread out more evenly. The noise should go away on its own within 1-2 weeks of use.

If the noise is bugging you (totally understandable), then here's what you can do:

  1. Get a can of 100% silicone spray (with the straw attachment) and a regular Phillips screwdriver

  2. Using the screwdriver, remove the top 3 screws from the plastic cover on the right-side of the bike

  3. Gently pull away the outer part of the cover to expose the chain

  4. With the straw attached, apply a light coating of silicone spray on the exposed chain

  5. Let go of the cover, so that it can return to its normal position

  6. Give the pedals a 1/4 (quarter) turn

  7. Repeat steps #3-5 until the entire chain has been lubricated

  8. Replace the plastic cover screws

Please avoid getting the silicone spray on your floor, hands/handles or on any electrical components, and do NOT use WD-40 to lubricant the chain — it can degrade the existing chain lubricant by drying it out.

If the noise doesn't go away after a couple of weeks of use or the silicone spray doesn't work within 1-2 uses, please let us know.
